Water Meter Testing

Water Meter Testing

Increase the reliability of your water meters by using our expertise in mechanical and durability testing techniques to detect design flaws in your water meters early. We carry out mechanical testing under controlled conditions according to IS 779:1994 / ISO 4064 (Class B) standards.
Water meters play a vital role in measuring the amount of water used by residential and commercial buildings connected to a public water supply system. They help utilities manage demand, ensure fair billing, detect leaks, and understand consumer water usage patterns.
There are two main types of water meters: inferential-type and volumetric. Inferential-type meters use the velocity of water to measure flow, while volumetric meters directly measure the volume of water passing through.
Mechanical water meters, over time can lose accuracy due to various factors like wear, water quality, and high velocity. Sudden pressure changes can also cause damage to water meters. We help water meter manufacturers sustain maintain accuracy, quality assurance measures and flow testing standards and comply with national and international standards.

Validity of Life Test Report(s):

LTR Validity period for Domestic Water Meter 15mm to 50mm is 3 years from date of issuing the test report and for Bulk Water Meter 50mm to 200mm 5 years from date of issuing the test report.

Acceptance Criteria:

During the sampling period, the test samples are drawn from each lot based on random sampling techniques. The lot size, number of samples drawn for first sample, second sample and corresponding acceptance criteria are followed as per IS 779: 1994 standard and is given in the following table.
Size of the Lot Size of the First Sample Acceptance Number Rejection Number Size of the Second Sample Size of the Cumulative Sample Cumulative Acceptance Number
